Better days ahead for all commuters in Oyo state, Makinde has come again with his welfarism, Oyo state towards a mega city gradually fulfilling.

Some months ago, it was jubilation galore everywhere in the state  on the arrival of  ultra-modern luxurious buses into the pacesetter state .

Another expression of joy over the people when the ongoing edifices, four world class bus terminals simultaneously within the heart of ibadan are towards completion and their beauties are gradually revealing . That Oyo state is becoming more of center of attraction is a good reason to smile and glorify God that blessed Oyo state with an enigma called Makinde.

"This administration would continue to place a high priority on key infrastructures that would make the state more viable for investments. The ultra-modern luxurious buses and the world class bus terminals will enhance developments in transportation scheme in Oyo State" Gov Makinde emphasized.

The hundreds of newly purchased luxurious buses to start plying different routes within Oyo state is a giant stride fulfilment of Makinde's mindset  

 The buses will provide commuters with a clean, affordable and reliable means of getting around the city

The bus terminals have also become the newest tourist destinations in Ibadan.

When every part of the facilities open fully, they will become a tourists hub with lot of facilities which includes: loading bays, ticketing stands, driver lounge, parking areas, restrooms and many others. They will also feature recreational and entertainment centres. art galleries, fast foods, lounges, malls and tech hubs.

More purposes of these transport interchanges are to create a central business district for road transportation in Ibadan. It is going to have security personnels and CCTV cameras installed in strategic areas of the terminals.

Iwo road being a major entrance and exit to other parts of the country with thousands of commuters got two big world class bus terminals while Ojoo and challenge motor park  got one each

From the inception of the regime Gov Seyi Makinde has continually reiterating 

" This administration would continue to improve the business environment in the state, while making it more attractive to investors "

Makinde: Merit or Sentiment for Second Term

Let me first of all, commiserate with His Excellency and the good people of Oyo State on the passing on of His Imperial Majesty, King Adeyemi Lamidi Atanda III of Oyo Alaafin Kingdom. May his departed soul be pleased with God and grant eternal rest. 

Governor Seyi Makinde fondly referred to as GSM is currently the number one citizen of the pacesetter's state. He emerged in the poll with a landslide victory. Many thanks to the alliance forces with particular reference to the good people of Oyo State who stood their ground to resist the imposed gubernatorial candidate of the major opposition party in the state. In the pre-election period, GSM had been widely underrated by many folks. The reason could be as a result of no previous political office, his super-rich account digits, or supposed soft-spoken traits. One would not forget in a flash a saying by one of the erstwhile governors in the state, to say this in local parlance "Seyi ko, Seyi ni...."

However, going by the political antecedents of GSM, one would understand that he must have had a blueprint of what he intended to do in office. On the assumption of office, he unleashed his electioneering pledges. He made it clear at the inauguration that providing good governance was not negotiable, stating that he was of the strong belief that it is only through improved governance that the benefits of democratic development will directly impact the lives of its people. Thus, the GSM roadmap for accelerated development has not derailed till this moment. No wonder, he has made a day for himself in the Oyo State calendar called "the GSM day". GSM gives an assurance of a new lease of life to the people with his 25th payday.

It is important to note that GSM's focus on four cardinal programmes, namely; education, health, economic expansion, and security has improved tremendously though, still a work in progress. He has been able to also replicate other areas of interest, as he explained, combating poverty, ensuring that the welfare of workers and pensioners is well-attended to, sports development, youths, and women empowerment, among others.

GSM in pursuant to the Public Property and Funds (Investigation and Recovery) Panel Law, Cap 138, Vol. 4 of the Oyo State Law 2000 will look into the matter of the siphoned billions of naira traced to the contract by the immediate past administration with particular reference to a Chinese company. Nonetheless, folks in different categories of assumptions have described this effort as a way of witch-hunting the last government in the state, the governor made it clear that his intention was not a witch-hunt but to guarantee accountability. For GSM to have delivered a bill to establish an anti-corruption agency in the state and had made the commitment to relinquish his immunity to be tried by the agency if he was found wanting, opinionists therefore see the witch-hunting claim as groundless and puerile.

Oyo State is now the home of quality education. Are you asking why? The state houses the best higher institutions of learning in the country. The premier university (UI) and LAUTECH soon-to-be LAU are the best federal and state universities in Nigeria as of today. 14th Combined Special Convocation Ceremonies of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso was graced by GSM as the visitor to the institution. He congratulated the graduands and charged them to be resilient as they start this new striving level of their lives. Governor Makinde had the opportunity to commission the Seyi Makinde Innovation and Technology Hub (SMITH) at the university which includes new-age technological facilities as well as a multi-purpose hall built by alumni of LAUTECH.

GSM as the secretary of the just-concluded National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was able to redefine the direction of the party which played out in the amount of party's expression of interest and nomination forms as against the unbearable and theft-like amount of APC pegged at #100 million. GSM has turned the state in its nooks and crannies into construction sites. Building of ultramodern infrastructures, bridges, roads, and facelifts of different kinds.

Another adulation for this administration is the ability to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people. At this juncture, I put it to you knowing fully well, government and governance are a continuum, should GSM be allowed the second term in office going by his sterling strides in the management of man and material resources on merit or sentiment?

 The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo (Agba Egbe) said, Saturday, that with the death of Alafin Of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, Southwest, Nigeria and Africa as a whole has lost a distinguished personality, a great African and a quintessential monarch.

In a statement by the special assistant on media and publicity, Wale Bodija, described the passage of the Monarch as a great shock and intense sadness.

“Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111 lived a fulfilled, and accomplished life as a Nigerian and elder statesman who sacrificed the greater part of his life for the stability, oneness and development of the Yoruba race and leaving for us and generations yet unborn resounding legacies and glowing footprints to follow.

“The late monarch who laid a legacy not just as a cultural ambassador but also in sport until death, he was the longest serving and unarguably one of the most respected Alaafin in the history of Oyo Empire; despite his exceptional attainments he left us great lessons as a strong symbol of tolerance, justice, honesty and service to our dear father land.

The Oyo state People Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke had Iftar with muslims brothers and sisters faithful in Oyo state Eaglessightnews has learned.

Alhaji Adeleke is a respected political juggernaut loved by all and sundry, particularly the PDP Stakeholders due to his kind hearted and the philanthropic virtue he depicts.

The special Iftar is to mark his annual  Iftar program with Muslims faithful.

This year Iftar held at the People's Democratic Party Secretariat office Molete , Ibadan.

" I implore us all to use this Ramadan to pray for love to abound in our country, Nigeria.

" As a party man , I would implore us all  to give our support to this present Administration head by Engr Seyi Makinde  in Oyo state and promote the good governance brought into the country by our most reliable party'  People Democratic Party' particularly in Oyo state.

Oyo:Reports have it that the sons and daughters of the recently passed away morach , alaafin Oyo Oba Adeyemi are in a close meeting about the burial of the king Eaglessightnews has learnt.

As quoted from Oyo Insight, "One of the respected Oyo princes, Bishop Ayo Ladigbolu, together with sons of departed Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, are locked in a meeting to discuss burial plans"

"The meeting began upon the arrival of the first son of the foremost monarch, Barr. Babatunde Adeyemi,

Meanwhile there is a circulated press release debunking the demise of the king. Contrarily the  Alaafin’s media ha confirmed the death of the monarch, saying that “It is true. Alaafin has joined his ancestors. I saw his remains laid down in the palace. The palace is mourning now. I can confirm that to you. There are many people that have stormed the palace at Oke-Afin in Oyo town. I am there right now. I will give details later through a press statement.”

"As about the press statement that was circulated this morning, debunking Alaafin’s death, Durojaiye responded: ” I did not issue any press statement today. That press release was issued a long time ago when it was rumoured that Alaafin was dead.”

Alaafin is expected to be buried at 4pm today a source confirmed.
